What is PDF Splitting?

Splitting a PDF means pulling out a specific range of pages and saving them as a separate file. Got a 50-page report but only need pages 10 to 20? Split them out. Want to send just one chapter of a book? Split it. It is faster than printing and scanning, and you keep everything digital and sharp.

When Is Splitting a PDF Useful?

• Share Specific Sections: Extract just the relevant pages from a large report or manual to send to someone.
• Separate Invoices: A multi-invoice PDF can be split into individual invoice files for each client.
• Isolate Chapters: Extract individual chapters from an e-book or course material PDF.
• Reduce File Size: Split out the pages you need and discard the rest to get a smaller, lighter file.
• Before OCR: Split out a difficult section of a scanned document to run OCR on it separately.

How to Split a PDF

1. Click "Choose PDF File" to upload your document.
2. Type the page range you want in the box — for example, type 3-8 to extract pages 3 through 8.
3. Click "Split PDF" — a progress bar shows while it works.
4. Click "Download Split PDF" to save the extracted pages as a new file.

Quick Notes

Q: What format should I use for the page range?
A: Enter two numbers separated by a dash, like 1-5 or 10-20. The tool will extract all pages within that range.

Q: Can I extract just one page?
A: Yes. Enter the same number twice, like 5-5, to extract a single page.

Q: Is my PDF sent to any server?
A: No. The split happens entirely in your browser. Your file does not leave your device.
